March of Diapers (in conjunction with Machinist Union 751)
Cascade Regional Blood Services is proud to partner with March of Diapers and Machinist Union 751 for the March of Diapers Campaign. Diapers and wipes are not covered by social welfare systems, such as WIC or food stamps, because they are considered a “hygiene” item. Social service agencies continually face shortages of these basic needs, and families are sometimes forced to use only one diaper per day for their babies and toddlers, or wash out a disposable and reuse it.
1 in 20 mothers/caregivers who has had to cut back on other purchases to pay for diapers has reused a disposable diaper. In the U.S., 42% of mothers living in poverty regularly run out of clean diapers for their infants. These babies can experience diaper rash, infections, and other health problems. Babies with severe diaper rashes often cry more – more crying coupled with the stress of living in need can lead to child abuse. Babies who cry excessively are the most likely to be victims of shaken baby syndrome…
Together we can help babies in our communities ‘One Tush at a Time’. Please join us by donating these much-needed essentials at one of our three Donor Centers in Tacoma, Puyallup, and Federal Way throughout the month of March. All sizes of diapers are needed and are greatly appreciated.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
There is nothing quite like a Thanksgiving feast: a juicy turkey, chestnut stuffing, buttery mashed potatoes smothered in creamy gravy, roasted vegetables, fluffy rolls, and of course grandma’s famous pumpkin pie with hand-whipped cream. Yum!
We all look forward to gathering the family around and making the holidays a little something special. At Cascade Regional Blood Services we know how important it is to come together and join forces for the good and well-being of others. That’s what we do. That’s what our dedicated donors do. That’s what makes our cities close communities and our neighbors our friends.
To ensure that our neighbors have enough food for the holidays and tummies are full during the tough winter months, we are collecting non-perishable food items in all three of our Donor Centers throughout October and November. Donated items will be divided up and distributed to area food banks in Auburn, Puyallup, Tacoma, Federal Way, and surrounding areas. Together, let’s ‘can’ hunger!
Salvation Army Giving Trees
The magic of the holiday season sparkles in the eyes of children and adults alike when presented with a gift that has been carefully selected and wrapped with love. However, at Cascade Regional Blood Services, we think the real joy is in the giving! It is such a pleasure to spread a bit of cheer to families in our communities that could use our support.
Since 1979 the Salvation Army has provided holiday gifts for seniors and children in local communities. Cascade Regional Blood Services has been privileged to work alongside this outstanding organization for many years, and we invite you to join in the festivities.
Giving Trees will be in our Tacoma and Puyallup Donor Centers the first couple of weeks in December. You are welcome to select a tag and purchasing gifts for your selected recipient. Please wrap the gifts for seniors, but leave the children’s gifts unwrapped and return to the Donor Center.

Spread The Word
Cascade Regional Blood Services has drawn Pierce and King County residents together since 1946 to provide and protect the community blood supply. Help us inspire people to donate locally and take pride in this previous shared resource. Together, we can make sure our community will continue to have access to life-saving blood when they need it.
