Cascade Regional Blood Services relies on voluntary donations to ensure a safe, constant blood supply. Our business is entirely dependent on you, and the security of your information is extremely important. We are committed to ensuring your information is safely and privately handled.

HOW DO WE DO THIS?
Donating blood is a highly regulated process. Health Information Privacy Protection Act regulations are designed to shield an individual’s protected health information from unauthorized access. Working within strict regulatory policies of the Food and Drug Administration and AABB, we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information as part of our everyday operations. We also take the following steps to ensure your information is secure.

BEFORE YOUR DONATION
Our employees are trained on confidentiality and maintaining the security of the information. This includes understanding and signing our statement of confidentiality.

Access to donor information is strictly limited and assigned according to job requirements.

DURING YOUR DONATION
The information we collect is called your donor record. Employees are  trained to collect this information and keep it confidential.

AFTER YOUR DONATION
Your blood is processed and distributed to the hospitals. All donor record information is kept in a secured area.

Your written consent is required to release your information to other medical professionals.

We appreciate you and your generous donation. If you would like more information about our privacy practices, please call 1-877-24-BLOOD.
