Recognition: School Drive Partners

Washington High School-December 4, 2008

On December 4, Washington High School (WHS) held a very large blood drive. At this drive, 107 donors were registered! Even more amazingly, there were 79 first-time donors. Sponsoring this very successful blood drive was the ASB Leadership class. Coordinating the blood drive was Mr. Booth, the teacher of the ASB Leaderships class. He offered the guidance and expertise needed to ensure the success of the drive.

The students of ASB were extremely helpful in putting the drive together. A few weeks prior to the drive, they began signing up students and making sure they were prepared to donate blood. On the day of the drive, they signed students in and out of class, passed out t-shirts and ran the canteen. The staff of Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) is very grateful for all of the hard work these students put into this blood drive and the contributions made to CRBS and our community.

This particular blood drive helped CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply to our community hospitals during the winter storms and holiday season. Washington High School is always well-organized and does a great job of making sure their drives are successful. We are very much looking forward to our next blood drive at WHS, home of the Patriots.
