Recognition: School Drive Partners

Thomas Jefferson High School – June 29, 2009

Cascade Regional Blood Services congratulates Thomas Jefferson High School (TJHS) on being named one of the top schools in the country. Newsweek has named TJHS in the top 1,500 schools in the nation. TJHS is the first Federal Way School to make that distinction. TJ is ranked number 878 in the nation and 13 in Washington State.

Congratulations to Dr. Mark Marshall, Principal of Thomas Jefferson High School, and our blood drive coordinator and DECA advisor Connie Davolt, as well as the staff and students at TJHS.

Thomas Jefferson High School – May 27, 2009

On Wednesday, May 27, The DECA Club at Thomas Jefferson High School, led by Connie Davolt, held a very successful blood drive. During the drive, 93 students were registered and 79 of them were first-time donors! Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) would like to thank the students of DECA for all of their hard work and the great guidance and support that Connie always provides to her students. Prior to the drive, they solicited sign-ups and promoted the event using posters and fliers. On the day of the blood drive, they assisted in the refreshment center and passed out t-shirts.

CRBS would like to congratulate the Thomas Jefferson High School, home of the Raiders, graduating class of 2009. CRBS also congratulates the Fastpitch Softball team for having a great year and qualifying for the state tournament.

Thanks to all the students and staff of Thomas Jefferson High School for their support of CRBS and our community’s blood supply. Their drives are always well organized and very successful. The blood collected by CRBS during this drive directly supports St. Francis Hospital and our other community hospitals. We look forward to continuing our great partnership with TJ High School!

Thomas Jefferson High School - May 29, 2008

The students and staff at Thomas Jefferson High School put together another great drive on May 29. This was the second year that TJ has held a drive with Cascade Regional Blood Services. This year 117 donors were registered, a significant increase over last year when 89 registered! The drive was sponsored by DECA, which is led by their staff advisor Connie Davolt.

The drive was also held in memory of former teacher Bill Dehnert, who passed away from cancer and was treated at St. Francis Hospital. CRBS has been the sole supplier of blood products and related support to St. Francis Hospital since they opened in 1987. The DECA committee made a special logo to promote the drive, “Donate for Dehnert.”

The drive was a huge success and Cascade Regional Blood Services is very grateful to the students and staff of Thomas Jefferson High School for their support. We are very much looking forward to the next drive at Thomas Jefferson.
