Recognition: School Drive Partners

This is just the second year for the blood drive program at Mt. Rainier Lutheran High School. During their second year, the Hawks Student Council was able to successfully grow the program from one to two blood drives! The combined total from MRLH’s fall and spring blood drives was 41 registered donors, including 19 first-time donors. BIG THANKS to Sarah Elliott, advisor, and to all the student council leaders and volunteers for making blood drives a priority. The school has numerous additional activities they coordinate including Spiritual Life Retreats, MRLH Day of Service, talent show, dances and more! CRBS school blood drives, like the drive at Mt. Rainier Lutheran, provide about 20 percent of the community’s blood supply. Community blood drives directly support MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital and our other community hospitals and clinics. Mt. Rainier Lutheran’s participation is significant and greatly appreciated. Blood Donors Save Lives!

Mount Rainier Lutheran High School is a private school that serves more than 120 students in grades 9-12. They do a great job with community service projects and have now also become great supporters of CRBS and our community as blood drive sponsors.
With help from Sarah Elliott, a math/science teacher and Student Council advisor, Mount Rainier Lutheran’s ASB held their first blood drive in the Student Commons on March 16, 2011. They were able to register 30 donors, a huge percentage of the total number of students who were eligible to donate.

A big “thank you” to the faculty, parents and students, who helped support this very successful blood drive! We are looking forward to our next drive during the 2011-12 school year.
