On February 12, Graham-Kapowsin held a fantastic blood drive. At this drive, 158 donors were registered. Of the 158 registered, 102 were first-time donors! This is certainly a testament to the hard work of the sponsor group, DECCA. Cascade Regional Blood Services would also like to thank Tanya Torres-Steen, who coordinated the blood drive. Her hard work and dedication make blood drives at Graham-Kapowsin hugely successful.
The students of DECCA did a great job of setting up this blood drive. Weeks before the drive, the students went from class to class signing people up. On the day of the drive, they set up and ran the canteen, passed out t-shirts, and signed students in and out of class. This helped make the drive go very smoothly.
The students at Graham-Kapowsin had a very successful school year.
Congratulations to the Graham-Kapowsin High School Wrestlers who took 7th place at the State Tournament at the Tacoma Dome February 19 & 20. Also, congratulations to the Girls Basketball Team; they were crowned SPSL South Champions this year and qualified for the West Central District Tournament.
Cascade Regional Blood Services would like to thank the students and staff of Graham- Kapowsin High School. Their blood drives help CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply to our community hospitals. We are very much looking forward to our next blood drive at Graham- Kapowsin, currently scheduled for May 4.
The drive at Graham-Kapowsin High School was amazing. On a goal of 110, we registered 198 donors! The students of DECA did a fantastic job of organizing the blood drive. They did a great job of running the sign-in table, canteen, and the t-shirt station. The drive was very well organized, a testament to the students of DECA.
This was Graham-Kapowsin’s first ever blood drive. Cascade Regional Blood Services would like to thank Susan Dunaway, Business Educator, for helping set up this drive. We would also like to thank Tanya Torres-Steen, DECA Advisor, for all of her hard work and dedication.
On the day of the drive, student Riley Weik, was not yet sixteen years old. However, on the day of his birthday, he and his father made a special trip to the Puyallup office to donate. We appreciate their special commitment and effort to go above and beyond in their support of CRBS and our community’s blood supply.
This drive helped us maintain an adequate blood supply for Good Samaritan and our other community hospitals. We are looking forward to partnering with Graham-Kapowsin High School in the future and helping them beat the all-time HS donation record!
