Recognition: School Drive Partners

Franklin Pierce High School, September 18, 2009

On Friday, September 18, Franklin Pierce High School held the first high school blood drive of the year for Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS). They started the season off with a bang, registering 101 blood donors! Of the 101 registered donors, 54 were first-time donors! Coordinating the blood drive were the students from ASB. The students did an excellent job of managing the flow of blood donors, assisting in the refreshment center, and helping sign students in and out of class. Congratulations to the students of ASB.

CRBS would like to thank all of the students and staff of Franklin Pierce High School. The administration at FPHS has done a fantastic job of supporting our community for many years, by placing emphasis on the importance of their blood drives. Their ongoing support helps CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply to Tacoma General, St. Joseph, and the rest of our community hospitals.

Franklin Pierce High School – May 8, 2009

On Friday, May 8, Franklin Pierce High School (FPHS) held a very successful blood drive. At this drive, 114 students were registered, and 62 were first-time donors! The sponsor group, the students of ASB, did an exceptional job of signing-up students prior to the blood drive date. The ASB students’ hard work and dedication paid off, resulting in the biggest blood drives ever at FPHS! Congratulations! Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) would also like to thank Amy Clark, our blood drive coordinator. Her leadership and guidance helped make this drive such a great success.

FPHS had an outstanding school year. The football team went to the state tournament and finished third in the 3a division. In DECA’s second year, six students competed in the International Competition in Anaheim, CA. Also, the school band went to the state tournament this year. CRBS would like to congratulate FPHS on all their success during the school year.

FPHS helps Cascade Regional Blood Services maintain an adequate blood supply to Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Joseph’s Medical Center and the rest of our community hospitals. We are very much looking forward to next year and the blood drives at Franklin Pierce High School, home of the Cardinals.

Franklin Pierce High School - May 9, 2008

Franklin Pierce High School hosted their last drive of the year on May 9 and it was very successful. They exceeded their goal of 68 by registering 95 donors. This was also a huge increase from the results of their drive in November when 72 participated, and 65 from a year ago.

The ASB group was instrumental organizing the drive and the students were eager to help out however they could. They assisted in the canteen, gave out t-shirts, and worked to keep everything running smoothly throughout the entire drive. Cascade Regional Blood Services would like to thank the students and staff of Franklin Pierce High School for their hard work and dedication to supporting CRBS and the patients in our community hospitals who need their help.

Franklin Pierce had a very successful 2007-08 school year in other activities also. Their football team finished 3rd in state and they came in 6th in the state cheer competition. The school was also the 1st runner up for the Cardinal newspaper.

Cascade Regional Blood Services is looking forward to the next drive at Franklin Pierce High School and another great 2008-09 school year.
