FOSS HIGH SCHOOL and their blood drive sponsor group, AGNES FOSS GROUP, had fantastic results from their first drive of the 2010-11 school year!  The FALCONS registered 129 donors; 91 were first time donors!  Because of drive sponsors like the Agnes Foss Group at FHS, CRBS is able to provide the life saving blood products that support patients at Mary Bridge, St. Joseph and our other community hospitals.  Special thanks to Alice Jean Edwards, FHS Honors English teacher and blood drive coordinator, and Angel Trinh, student blood drive coordinator! CRBS appreciates the ongoing support of Foss High School’s administration, staff and student body. BIG THANKS to all the generous blood donors at Foss High School!

Foss High School – October 23, 2009

On Friday, October 23, Foss High School held their first blood drive of the school year. The drive was a smashing success, 133 students were registered and 90 were first time donors! Coordinating the blood drive was Alice Jean Edwards, an English teacher at Foss High School. She does a great job of working with the students in the Agnes Foss Club. She did a wonderful job helping the students of the Agnes Foss Club prepare for the blood drive. The group signed up students prior to the blood drive and assisted in the refreshment center throughout the day. Their hard work helped make the day go very smoothly.

The students at Foss High School have had a great year thus far. The Football team has a winning record (4-3) and the Girls Varsity Volleyball team broke the five-year losing streak. They have two wins this year and most games have been extremely competitive. The following quote from the Foss students shows the pride they have in being a Falcon, “Everyday is a great day only if you can say I’m a Henry Foss Falcon, full of spirit and pride and I love to hold it down for Henry Foss High!”

Foss High School holds two blood drives per school year. The next drive is scheduled for Friday, May 21. Blood drives at Foss help Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) maintain an adequate blood supply to Tacoma General Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, and the rest of our community hospitals. We are very much looking forward to the next drive at Foss High School and appreciate the great support they provide.
