Fife High School held its first blood drive of the new school year on Wednesday, December 3. The drive was goaled at 80, and 136 students were registered! Way back in March of 2001, FHS registered 137 donors. Other than that, this was by far the largest drive they have ever sponsored. The hard work of the ASB group, under the direction of Molly Stubrud, was crucial in making this drive such an enormous success.
The students of Fife High School were determined to take this drive to the next level. Many of them decided to stay after school in order to donate. The students of ASB also helped sign-up students, volunteer in the canteen, and pass out t-shirts to students. Such a positive attitude from the students created a buzz in the air; it was truly a giving day at Fife High School. Even the Christmas spirit was in the air, as students and staff sang Christmas carols as they donated.
A special program that the school is sponsoring again this year is called “Winter Wishes”. This has become a great event where students and faculty work together to grant special wishes for fellow students.
Cascade Regional Blood Services is very thankful to Fife High School and their commitment to blood drives. They truly make a difference in the community. Their blood drives help CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply to our community hospitals.
