Recognition: School Drive Partners

Eatonville High School-March 24, 2009

On Thursday, March 24, Eatonville High School (EHS) had another great turnout for their blood drive. At this drive, 81 donors were registered and 37 were first-time donors. Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) would like to thank Tira Hancock, a teacher at EHS, and the ASB for sponsoring and promoting this drive. The students did a great job of signing up students, assisting in the canteen, and escorting students to and from the bloodmobiles. Their hard work and commitment helped make the day go very smoothly.

CRBS would like to thank the students, staff and parents of Eatonville High School for their support. The staff and students at EHS are always very accommodating and helpful during our blood drives. We look forward to continuing our long standing and successful blood drive partnership with Eatonville High School. The Cruisers help CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply so we will be able to continue to meet the needs of community members who receive treatment at Good Samaritan and the rest of our community hospitals.

Eatonville High School-December 12, 2008

On Friday, December 12, Eatonville High School (EHS) held another in a long line of very successful blood drives at their school. They battled strong winds, rain and even snow during the drive. However, this did not deter the students, and 87 donors were registered. This tremendous accomplishment was made possible by the sponsor group, Honor Roll/ASB. They received guidance and a great amount of help from their blood drive coordinator Tira Hancock, who is a teacher at Eatonville High School.

Not only did the students battle the elements, but the school is also going through a renovation and classes are being conducted in portables. As a result, students were sent to the career counselor’s portable to check in and receive their HERO t-shirt, before proceeding to the bloodmobiles with a student escort. Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) treated the student escorts to hot drinks from a local espresso stand. It was truly a team effort in making this blood drive such an outstanding success.

Eatonville High School, home of the Cruisers, conducts two blood drives a year. There first is in December, during a time of critical need for our area hospitals. The other is held during March, just before the WASL begins. EHS students always conduct sign-ups on their own by going from class to class. Cascade Regional Blood Services would like to thank the students and staff of Eatonville High School for their support. Their support helps CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply to our community hospitals.

Eatonville High School - December 7, 2007

The drive at Eatonville High School was amazing. On a goal of 65, we had 91 people register to donate blood! Cascade Regional Blood Services would like to thank the students and staff for the great results. Instrumental to the success of this drive was drive coordinator Tira Hancock and the sponsor group, Honor Roll/ASB.

At the time of the drive, the high school was being renovated and classes were held in portables at Eatonville Middle School. In the past, blood drives were held in the school gym; however due to the construction, blood mobiles were used at this drive. Even with all of the construction, we exceeded our goal by 26! This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students and staff of Eatonville High School.

EHS conducts two blood drives a year. The first drive is held in December, a time of critical need for our area hospitals. The second drive is in March, just before WASL testing. EHS students always conduct their own sign-ups, without the assistance of a CRBS drive consultant. Students go classroom to classroom and pass sign-up sheets around the room. Clearly they are successful!
