Recognition: School Drive Partners

Clover Park High School- December 11, 2008

On December 11, Clover Park High School (CPHS) held a very successful blood drive. At this drive, 98 donors were registered. Of the 98 donors registered, 67 were first-time blood donors! This is a testament to the leadership of the science class, which sponsored the blood drive. Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) would like to thank Phillip Aponte, the science class teacher who coordinated the drive. He has been doing a great job with the students at CPHS for many years. He does a great job of motivating and helping the students organize the class as they prepare for and carry out the drives.

On the day of the drive, the science class helped make the drive go very smoothly. They signed students in and out of class, passed out t-shirts, and had runners going from class to class to ensure students donated at the proper time. Their hard work was very much appreciated by the staff of CRBS. Blood drives at Clover Park High School help CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply to St. Clare Hospital and the rest of our community hospitals.

Clover Park High School, home of the Warriors, is very involved in the local community. On Martin Luther King Jr. day, the students serve the community through a variety of projects. These projects include painting over graffiti, cleaning up Clover Park, and teaching seniors in the community to “surf” the internet. CRBS is looking forward to working with these great students at our next drive.

Clover Park High School-October 19, 2007

The students and staff of Clover Park High School did another great job of supporting CRBS and area hospitals by registering 69 donors for their recent blood drive on October 19. Under the leadership of Phil Aponte, Clover Park was well organized for this drive, as always. They have supported drives in our community for many years and are one of the schools in South King and Pierce Counties that contribute about 25% of the blood supply for our community.

Thanks for another very successful drive and we look forward to our next drive at Clover Park High School the first of next year.
