Recognition: School Drive Partners

Bellarmine Preparatory School – October 29, 2009

On Thursday, October 29, Bellarmine Prep held their first blood drive of the school year. At this blood drive, 64 students were registered and 37 of those were first-time donors. The drive coordinator for the Bellarmine drive was Malia Bernards. She did a fantastic job of organizing the blood drive, handling the promotion materials, and getting students to sign up prior to the drive date. Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) would like to thank Malia and the students for making this drive such a great success.

The students and staff of Bellarmine Prep are very supportive of the blood drive program with CRBS. Their support helps us maintain an adequate blood supply to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, Tacoma General Hospital, St. Joseph Medical Center and the rest of our community hospitals. We are very much looking forward to the next blood drive at Bellarmine Prep, which has been scheduled for March 11, 2010.

Bellarmine Prep – October 30, 2007

The students at Bellarmine held their first drive of the year and exceeded their goal by registering 66 donors. Lynne Christiansen Mary Campbell, Health and PE teacher at Bellarmine, told us they were doing great in their athletics and are involved in many community projects, including hosting families from Phoenix Housing Network to come to Bellarmine for a fun overnight event. The students cleared out “Father Weber Hall” and filled it with beds. They had a great dinner with games, movies and lots of fun. Breakfast was served the next morning, ending a wonderful overnight experience for everyone involved.
