May
City of Federal Way
The City of Federal Way and the Federal Way Community Center have partnered with Cascade Regional Blood Services in saving lives in our community for the past several years. Blood drives are scheduled quarterly at alternating locations. The City of Federal Way is being honored as the CRBS Blood Drive of the Month for the month of May, due to the outstanding results of their most recent drive and their long term support of CRBS, St. Francis Hospital, and other area hospitals.
CRBS conducts about 100 mobile drives monthly. Each month, one drive is selected for their support, dedication, loyalty and hard work as a regular blood drive sponsor. It is only because of volunteer blood donors that CRBS can provide blood products to the hospitals we serve in South King and Pierce Counties.
CRBS is the sole provider of all blood products to St Francis Hospital in Federal Way. Congratulations to the City of Federal Way and the Federal Way Community Center, and thank you for supporting your community blood center.
April
St. Mary's Episcopal Church
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church has been hosting drives with us since 1995. They have held 53 drives, producing 1078 registered donors and collecting 706 units. Ann Nicholson took over the coordination of the drives in 2007. Her husband, Paul Pastor, was the face of our billboard campaign “Paul Saves Again.” We appreciate their continued support.
March
Central Wastewater Treatment Plant #1
Central Wastewater Treatment Plant #1 and their Coordinator, LaVonne Waller, have been holding blood drives every two months for over ten years. We can always count on their commitment and support to help us keep our hospitals’ blood needs at safe levels. Their drives usually bring in between 11–20 units of blood, with their March drive registering 19 donors. We are very grateful for such loyalty and especially pleased to recognize Central Wastewater Treatment Plant #1 as our March Blood Drive of the Month!
February

Good Samaritan Hospital
In August of 2008, Amber Bishop, Wellness Coordinator at MultiCare Center for Healthy Living, reestablished the blood drive program at Good Samaritan Hospital. Since then, we have conducted 10 mobile blood drives at the hospital which have generated 165 blood donors. Amber is committed to providing a convenient blood drive location for Good Samaritan employees and the public; blood drives are scheduled every eight weeks. Amber utilizes the MultiCare Intranet, email campaigns and posters to communicate blood drive updates. She has also developed creative incentives to encourage hospital employees to donate. We are pleased to recognize Amber Bishop and Good Samaritan Hospital as our February 2010 Blood Drive of the Month!
January
DaVita
DaVita in Tacoma has been conducting blood drives for over 10 years. With the help of their Events/Project Coordinator, Dee Gahan, they have registered over 80 donors in 2009! We greatly appreciate their commitment and attention to detail when preparing each donor for their donation. They truly make sure each donor has a great experience. Their most recent drive in January registered over 20 donors! We are pleased to recognize DaVita as the January 2010 Blood Drive of the Month!
