Automated Double Red Cell Program

With new technology, we are now able to maximize each individual donation by collecting two units of red blood cells during one donation.

Benefits to Donors

• Two transferable units of red blood cells
• Smaller needle used than for whole blood donation
• Fluid replacement helps donors feel better
• Fewer trips to the blood center
• Fewer reminder phone calls

Donors must meet the following requirements for participating in this program, in addition to being at least 16 years of age:

• Male
  Height: 5’1”
  Weight: 130 lbs.
  Hematocrit: 40%
• Female
  Height: 5’5”
  Weight: 150lbs.
  Hematocrit: 40%
