Emerald Ridge High School-November 6, 2008

On November 6, Emerald Ridge High School (ERHS) held their first drive of the new school year and did a fantastic job. Sponsoring the blood drive was the Sports Medicine Class. This class of 12 students worked extremely hard to put together this blood drive. Carrie Swanson, Sports Medicine Teacher, was the blood drive coordinator. She did an excellent job of guiding the students through the process and providing support. Cascade Regional Blood Services would like to thank Carrie and the Sports Medicine Class for their efforts.

The blood drive goal was set at 85, which the group exceeded by registering 92 donors. The Sports Medicine Class and CRBS staff worked in conjunction to sign-up students two weeks prior to the drive date. On the day of the drive, student volunteers assisted in the canteen and managed the sign-in table. Their efforts helped to keep things running smoothly throughout the day.

To celebrate and thank the Sports Medicine Class for the great results, CRBS will hold a pizza party for the group. The next blood drive at ERHS, home of the Jaguars, is scheduled for February. ERHS is also considering sponsoring a third “end of the year” blood drive as well. The support of ERHS helps CRBS maintain an adequate blood supply to Good Samaritan Hospital, as well as our other community hospitals. We are anxiously looking forward to our next blood drive at ERHS.

Emerald Ridge High School- February 26, 2008

On February 26, Emerald Ridge High School held a very successful drive. At this drive, 89 donors were registered. Sponsoring the drive was the Sports Medicine class. Coordinating the drive was Carrie Swanson, a teacher at Emerald Ridge High School.

To ensure the success of the drive, students conducted a sign-up table in the school cafeteria two weeks prior to the drive. Students of the sports medicine class also were a big help on the day of the drive, working the canteen all day.

There is a healthy competition at Emerald Ridge High School between the Kiwanis/Interact sponsored drives and the Sports Medicine class drives. Cascade Regional Blood Services is thankful to both groups and all of the students and staff at the school. We are looking forward to the next drive at Emerald Ridge High School.

Emerald Ridge High School - November 13, 2007

Emerald Ridge High School put together a phenomenal blood drive on November 13. The goal was set at 85 donors, and we had 94 people register. They also exceeded their spring drive total, at which time 80 people registered to donate. Cascade Regional Blood Services would like to thank the student and staff at Emerald Ridge High School for their support.

Blood drive coordinator, Patti McMullan, a career counselor at the school was instrumental in putting together this drive. Sponsoring the drive was the Kiwanis/Interact group. Two weeks prior to the drive, a sign-up table is placed in the lunchroom and during the drive, members of the Kiwanis/Interact group volunteer to canteen, serving cookies and juice. Their hard work and determination helped make this drive extremely successful. They certainly deserved the pizza party they received as a thank you for a job well done.

Emerald Ridge High School is very important to Cascade Regional Blood Services. Their support for Good Samaritan Hospital and our other area hospitals is significant
